Getting Cigent In Florence - Cigar Journal Cigar Tasting

Florence (Italian: Firenze) is a city in Italy. It is the capital of the Tuscany region in northern Italy and is the center of the province that bears its name. For a short period, it was also the capital of the Kingdom of Italy.

The city is built around the Arno River that runs through it. The city, which has a population of nearly one million, together with the surrounding residential areas, is one of the important trade centers of Italy and Europe today, as it was in the past. Wikipedia continues.

Fortunately, our cigar-focused trip to Florence created many different and enjoyable memories for us, apart from the above table d'hote information. Cigar Journal organizes special tasting programs in different cities several times a year for panelists to meet and mingle, and one of the first of these years was held in Florence. Tasting held last week was a great choice in terms of season. Of course, it would be a lie to say that weather-wise luck did not help a little.

While it was still freezing at 10 degrees in Istanbul, we landed in Bologna in a mixture of 25 degrees spring and summer and then for about 30 minutes. We arrived in Florence by high-speed train. Before getting ready for the evening, after a short city tour as a tourist, we returned to the hotel for preparation. On the first evening, we will spend a night hosted by the Florence Cigar Club. After recovering, we slowly meet in the lobby of the hotel. While everyone is slowly appearing in the lobby, smoking cigars for me, one of the best things about participating in such organizations, is the chapter; It's a chapter of meeting different and new people whose common point is cigars and who are somehow involved in this business. Participants include cigar distributors from Stockholm and Gothenburg, president and members from different cigar clubs, Innovation Manager Davidoff Global and owner of Henk Handbags and Accessories, a very interesting personality. Cigar Journal editor, Reinhold, introduces everyone and we take a taxi to Villa i Morulli in groups.

Villa i Morulli is an organization villa with different rooms, surrounded by greenery, overlooking the valley. A lady from the family that owns the villa today greets us at the door and we take a short tour in the villa. By the way, it also tells the story of the villa. The villa, which belonged to the Pazi family at the time, passed to the Medici family after Paziler was expelled by the Medici. Later, with the expulsion of the Medici from Toskano, it passes to its present owners. Although the current owners live in the villa, it is not possible to make a hotel-like accommodation. However, according to the information they give, it will be possible as of next year.

After the short tour, we start to socialize with the Florence Cigar Club. The club was only open to gentlemen and had around 60 members. We had pleasant conversations with the club members who welcomed us very warmly in a cozy cocktail and dinner environment over plenty of cigars. Later that night, club members moved on to the tasting session that Cigar Journal had prepared for them, and we, as panelists, went to the terrace of the villa to set our next day, with cigars, of course.

The next day we were at the villa before noon. The weather was still warm, but with its sweet breeze, it accompanied us throughout the day. I said we were pretty lucky from the weather. Before Tasting Reinhold introduces a new taste and aroma matching cup of Humidif Group, which also owns the HF Barcelona accessories I mentioned earlier. I have reviewed this interesting product in the accessories section for you.

After this introduction, we start tasting 6 cigars, the goal of the day, and everyone gets a cigar from each package and starts both tasting and having a deep conversation. In the meantime, we have a nice lunch with delicious dishes of the Mediterranean cuisine at the table where the orange color is dominant in the garden of the villa, we balance our blood sugar taken by nicotine and continue to taste. During the day, I learn a lot of different information about Davidoff, as well as the chance to learn different and new information about Henk cigar accessories, which was awarded by the Cigar Journal last year. Again, you can find a little more detailed information about Henk in the accessories section of the site.

We finish the tasting at around 6 o'clock when the sun starts to lose itself slightly in the valley ahead. From here, we'll end the day with dinner on one of Florence's open-air museum streets. Most of us find our spouses who are touring during the day and include them in the group and end the day with a crowded and fun meal.

As I mentioned above, the greatest pleasure of such organizations is to spend time meeting people who see cigars as a real hobby and meet on this common ground. The beauty and charm of the venues and the ability to smoke plenty of cigars are the bonus of this business. Besides, you get the chance to get different and new information about the cigar world from the first hand.

Have a pleasant smoke for you all ...
